Purple Loosestrife - 360º Interactive Panorama

On July 13, 2005, Roger Batt, Idaho Weed Awareness Campaign Coordinator, and Bonnie Davis, Washington County Weed Superintendent, visited a large patch of Purple Loosestrife. Roger notes that a lot of people probably think of this plant as a beautiful wildflower, but in reality it is one of the thirty six noxious weeds that need to be taken care of in Idaho. Bonnie agrees that this is a very beautiful plant and that it is very invasive. She also notes that one plant can produce as many as two and a half million seeds a year. It spreads not only by seed but also by the rhizomes as a deep rooted perennial. She concludes that it is a tough plant when you first try to get control of it.

Note that there are several video "hot spots" available which provide a lot more detailed information.
