Rory Clinton talks about this large scale Diffuse Knapweed infestation and how the cost of control can easily exceed the value of the land. What the County tries to do is be a good neighbor. The weed has not yet reached Canyon County and there is agriculture land on one side, orchard ground on the other side. What they try to do on a big project like this is to work on the borders in a containment type of plan. Biological agents are used on the inside to try to slow the spread of the weed down. Then they apply some herbicide control on the outside to keep it from spreading.
